Morgan Cartlidge is a producer and writer who built A Place of One’s Own from the ground up: researching the subject, shaping the film’s narrative, and finding and securing contributors across five countries. He produced every shoot from India to the United States, conducted the film’s interviews across all its locations and languages, and worked the story through the edit alongside editor Steve Watson. He also led the film’s festival and distribution strategy. His award-winning short documentaries, made with Oliver Couch, include films on community-led carbon and bio-credit programmes in Uganda and Zambia and on peatland and forest restoration across the UK and Portugal, work united by a commitment to telling environmental and human stories with, for, and by the communities living them.
